DUE TO RECENT UNFOUNDED ACCUSATIONS MADE TOWARDS KIRA AT SOME OF HER RECENT BOOKINGS SHE HAS DECIDED TO MAKE THE FOLLOWING STATEMENT...........
It has come to my attention at some of my recent bookings that there are some people within the audience who believe I am miming to my tracks. In my five years of singing I have never and will never mime, in any situation and under any circumstances, at any of my bookings or otherwise.
Without wishing to sound harsh, I am extremely insulted and deeply hurt by such accusations.
I work extremely hard to sing well and to entertain at all of my bookings, and have over the last year, vastly improved my vocal technique, as well as my range. Singing is my passion and I would not decieve anyone into thinking I was singing when I was not.
I have to assume it can only be the lastest media frenzy surrounding artistes on shows such as the X-Factor, that has led to the average listener to come to such a conclusion. I can assure you that I will never resort to such practice. I am a singer by profession, that is what I am being paid for. I do not claim to be any thing more or anything less.
I am also a freelance artiste and my reputation relies on word of mouth. I do not appreciate members of the audience or indeed club associates or members accusing me of not being professional while at my bookings. Although this is aimed at a minority I would like to make it clear that if anyone in the future believes I am miming to any of my songs, at which I work hard to perfect, then please approach me before the end of the night. After this time I am unable to clear my name. I will take whatever means necessary to prove myself. If this means singing your name on your cue in the middle of any of my songs then it has to be.
I would like to just finish this statement by apologising to my many fans who have continued to support me over the years and who continue to do so. I am aware that the majority of you appreciate a good artiste for the hard work we put in and I hope this does not alter your opinion of me.
Thank you for taking the time to read this.
Sincerely yours,
Kira
